WEDNESDAY 27 OCTOBER: HORNCLIFFE ARTS SOCIETY PRESENT A TALK BY MARIA CHESTER – 2:30-4:30pm. Talk is entitled “The Columbian Exchange” and discusses why 75% of the food we eat comes from the Americas. Tickets £5.00, available to members only. THURSDAY 28 OCTOBER: HORNCLIFFE FOLK CLUB OPEN SESSION – 8-10PM. Open folk song session for musicians and singers and anyone who wants to simply come along and listen. Entry £2 which includes raffle ticket, payable on the evening, towards Hall hire charge. These open sessions take place monthly on the 4thThursday.

SATURDAY 30 OCTOBER: COFFEE MORNING –10:30am -12 Noon.

SATURDAY 30 OCTOBER: BAR OPENING EVENT – 8pm – midnight. Come and celebrate the official opening of the Hall’s new bar, built by Spencer’s engineers using parts of the original Union Chain Bridge. There will be a welcome glass of Prosecco and a representative of the Friends of the Union Chain Bridge will say a few words. Salmon City Blues Band will provide music during the evening and there will be a free buffet provided by the Hall Committee and veg Shed members. The bar is cash only.

SUNDAY 21 NOVEMBER: TIME TO BE CONFIRMED. COOKERY DEMO PLUS SALE OF COOKING EQUIPMENT, COOKERY BOOKS AND LAUNCH OF VEG SHED COOKERY BOOK.

THURSDAY 4 NOVEMBER: HORNCLIFFE ARTS SOCIETY – 7-10pm. This month’s film is Closely Watched Trains. Open to club members only

THURSDAY 18 NOVEMBER: BLUES AND ACOUSTIC MUSIC NIGHT – 8pm-10pm. Open music session. Come along to play, or to listen.

SUNDAY 21 NOVEMBER: COOKERY DEMONSTRATION. Time TBC. Sale of kitchen equipment and cookery books, including the new Veg Shed Cookery book. More details to follow

TUESDAY 23 NOVEMBER: HORNCLIFFE ART SOCIETY: WATERCOLOUR WORKSHOP – 1-4pm. The workshop will be lead by Steve Bretel who is a fine art painter, maker and enthusiastic educator. Suitable for beginners and for those with more advanced skills.
