FRIDAY 26 JUNE: HORNCLIFFE ARTS SOCIETY FILM – THE RIVER: 7PM-9:30PM. Film about the river Tweed. Discover the rich heritage of the Tweed bringing the history and traditions to life through local voices. From tales of Merlin and medieval warriors to fishers, poets, and weavers the film paints a vivid portrait of the regions cultural tapestry and unique customs. Narrated by BBC presenter Paddy O’Connell. Tickets £2.50 towards Horncliffe Arts Society. Bar open and refreshments available.

SATURDAY 25 JULY: COFFEE MORNING: 10:30am – 12 noon

THURSDAY 06 AUGUST: ART WORKSHOP: 10AM-4PM in association with Fishers Arms. Meet at the pub at 10am, the day will comprise a morning river walk with art activities en route led by local artist and Fishers; volunteer, Pauline Plenderleith, breaking for a light lunch at midday at the Fishers Arms followed by a light stroll to Horncliffe Memorial Hall to develop work from morning’s sketching, finishing at 4pm. The planned walkie approx 2km, many on grass or gravel path with a mild descent at the start and an ascent near the end. Paths are unsuitable for wheelchair users and please no dogs. Children under 16 to be accompanied by an adult. The event is suitable for both beginners and more experienced artists and some basic equipment will be provided. Please however, if possible, bring your own sketch book and preferred art materials. Cost £40pp, including a light lunch – drinks not included – at the Fishers Arms Community Owned pub.
